Psalm 91

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1

I painted this flaming lion during worship one Sunday evening. He turned out so nicely, I knew that I wanted to re-paint him and take more time. As I envisioned the details, I kept seeing a shadow of a woman dancing in the shadow of the lion. When I asked Jesus what that was, he told me, “Psalm 91”. I found this very odd, because I always picture Psalm 91 as very peaceful and serene. The Lord explained to me that it is peaceful for me because of what my enemy, satan, sees. He sees Jesus – the roaring lion of Judah! He won’t dare come near. I painted the woman touching the flames, because I always feel a certain amount of refining while I am in Psalm 91. This is because the Lord wants to burn away any foothold that Satan may have in my life, so that satan will have no hold on me.
